Caring Families Aotearoa

Caring Families Aotearoa supports families and whānau who open their homes and hearts to tamariki in need of care and protection by creating homes that heal. They provide training, encouragement, advocacy, information, and practical support to caregiving families across the country - so any situation where young ones need to be placed into care has the best possible chance of success, not just in statutory care but in informal family arrangements as well.

We know that every care journey is different – we don’t have one road map for all. What we do have is over 40 years of experience which we share with caregivers, and our practice is based on the latest research for tamariki and rangatahi who have not had the best start in life, for whatever reason.

Every journey is different, but our goal is always the same, the best outcome for kids in care.

A thoughtful gift of a beanie for these young ones, many of whom have very little that they can call their own when they are taken into care, fits beautifully within these goals.

“We are excited to partner with Stroke Foundation of New Zealand as they offer a wonderful opportunity for families with kids in their care to have some nice new warm woollies for winter."
